Our story

A woman-owned family business built to give Fox Valley families a better option

Tara knows what it feels like to find wasps under the siding or mice in the pantry the night before a big day. She also knows what it feels like to get a vague quote, a pushy contract, and a technician who never explains what he is spraying around your kids.

Family First Pest Management exists to be the opposite of that. She built the company around three promises: your family’s safety comes first, you will always know exactly what we are doing and why, and the price will be fair for a family or a small business budget. We had a huge number of wasps getting underneath the stone siding on the front of our house. We tried spraying multiple times ourselves with little impact, and I was worried we might have to remove the siding to get rid of them.

Then, the night before the first day of school, the wasps somehow made their way from under the siding, through tiny openings around a window, and INTO our house!

I called Family First the next day, and they were out within a day to assess and treat the problem. They were incredibly easy to communicate with, followed up consistently, and made sure the problem was completely resolved. After a few treatments, the wasps were gone, with no need to remove our stone siding. Great service and follow-through!

I started my journey with Bees in sons room possibly coming in through his window/A,C unit. I called a different place for a quote to start ( First Choice Pest Control). Upon asking a couple questions trying to understand what I'm looking at and why I should spend money to do this versus my own remedy of store bought bee and wasp killer. I was given an ok quote however I was firmly talked down to, to the point where it felt like Bringing a bomb to diffuse a small question. It took me a day to get over it and rather than just give in and accept their service I decided to get a second opinion.

I called Family First and I'm glad I did. He took time to take my call and expressed pricing I received already was competitive to what he charged. As we talked more it wasnt even about pricing anymore he was actually concerned for my family and making sure that if he had time that he could get over there and help us. He called me back and was able to move things around and meet me at my house. He was understanding and talked with me as we walked around my house discussing the right plan and option so my son could get back enjoying his bedroom ( as much as a 7 year old that doesn't like bedtime can like his room) lol. Happy for the service and treating me with respect.
